About

Restoring Valor

Description

PDEM is a company located in southeast Michigan that provides restoration services to home and business owners in the wake of a catastrophic loss (flood, fire, storm, biohazard, trauma, mold, etc.).

The company has created and manages a tax exempt 501C-3 dedicated to assisting US military veterans, their families and related organizations in the Greater Metropolitan Detroit Area.

Our Mission

The primary mission of The Restoring Valor Foundation is to provide financial support for US military veterans and US military organizations who are in need.  More specifically, the funds will be used to provide property restoration services to US veterans who own residential homes and businesses and have experienced a catastrophic loss due to flood, fire, storm or other such catastrophes.

In other words, PDEM will use these funds to restore homes, businesses and personal property owned by veterans to their pre-loss condition.  Additionally, these funds will be used to help members of local Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) posts – and other such organizations – to restore personal items such as military memorabilia.

Context and background

Brian Thomas – the owner of PDEM – wishes to focus the charitable work of his company upon military-related causes in honor of his father Bruce Thomas.  Bruce served in the US Army and, while deployed in Vietnam for two years, received three (3) Purple Heart designations for injuries he sustained in combat.  Brian has long had tremendous reverence and respect for his father and for all those who have served and therefore conceived of The Restoring Valor Foundation in 2023.

The overall intent is to combine the funds donated to this charitable entity with our in-house restoration expertise for the benefit of those who have served.

Potential sources of funding may include:

  • Recurrent direct donations made by PDEM itself when able
  • PDEM organizing and hosting charitable events such as golf tournaments, barbeques, auctions, contests, open houses and other such affairs
  • Soliciting direct donations from the subcontractors and vendors with whom PDEM frequently works
  • PDEM donating a percentage of revenue for each job completed
  • Soliciting donations from local insurance agents, property managers and business owners
  • Potentially other means as the operation of the 501C-3 evolves over time

No veteran should ever have to suffer financial hardship due to a loss at their home or business.  The Restoring Valor Foundation exists to help those who have sacrificed so much on behalf of our great country.  PDEM is grateful to any and all who are willing to contribute to this very worthy cause because…Thank You is never enough.
